This collective order allows nurses and CPNPs working in the postpartum unit to administer intrabuccal dextrose gel 40% following screening for neonatal hypoglycemia and glycemia testing when indicated as per the Management of Neonatal Hypoglycemia Algorithm (see Appendix 1), in the first 48 hours of life.
