Use gauze dressings as a last resort Use specialized dressings/products whenever possible (Bryant and Nix, 2012; Hinkle and Cheever, 2014; Jaszarowski and Murphree, 2016). Apply a dressing or sterile gauze pads impregnated with sterile solution or not.
